New Cassel Dietary Menu
The Dietary Department prints a complete menu for each week. Please note, the Franciscan Centre does not serve evening meals.
The menu at New Cassel is created by the Director of Dietary Services, in conjunction with a registered dietician. Planning for all meals gives the residents a wide variety of items to choose from, and special menus when available. The Dietary staff take suggestions from residents and try to provide fresh produce when in season.
Breakfast: The variety provided for breakfast includes staples such as eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles and more. However, the grains are represented in oatmeal, breads and cereals. Juices are available in several fruit varieties.
Dinner: Residents always have two options for the noon meal. During the Spring/Summer months, the variety is lighter, offering more salads and fresh fruit. The Bistro is always a popular option for residents, with soup, salad, and sandwhiches made daily.
Supper: The evening meal at New Cassel provides a few different options such as sandwiches, patty melts and burgers.
Dessert: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the residents have soft service ice cream available at dinner and supper.
All residents are provided a weekly menu and the daily menu is posted outside the dining room and on the closed circuit internal television. To inquire about the scheduled dietary menu, please call the receptionist desk at New Cassel at 402-393-2277. They will be happy to assist you.
